Sixth Annual Carolina FiberFest to Celebrate the Fiber Arts
RALEIGH—Knitters, spinners, weavers, crocheters, tatters and other fiber artists will gather May 18—20 for the sixth annual Carolina FiberFest. Features will include contests, free demos, classes and shopping at more than 70 vendor booths for yarn and ready-to-spin fiber, patterns, tools and specialty items. Fiber lovers will also enjoy a sock fashion show, weaving techniques for children, speakers, antique fiber equipment and author book signings.
“The fiber arts have exploded in popularity, appealing to kids, teens and adults who are passionate about creating handmade garments, accessories and home décor,” said Carolyn Beasley, event chair. “Each year we add more activities, classes, merchants and demos. In 2012, visitors will find over 47,000 square feet of fiber fun.”
